The Old Man Of Storr - Scottish Tales and its Magical Myths

The elderly man was struck by lightning one day while being stuck in a violent storm. The following day, the villagers discovered his body and were horrified to discover that he had been turned to stone.

A different myth claims that a giant once resided in the region long ago. The entire Isle of Skye was reportedly big enough for the monster to pick up and carry around. The giant once noticed a stunning woman in the distance while out on a stroll. She immediately sparked his affection, and he made the decision to pursue her. However, he stumbled and fell while running, and as a result, his body turned to stone.

Another tale holds that the formation contains the remains of a druid who lived in antiquity and was punished by being turned to stone for doing prohibited magic.
