The Simpson's Predictions

The Simpsons is a long-running animated television show that began airing in 1989. It is known for its satirical portrayal of American culture and society, and often makes jokes and references to current events and popular culture. Some episodes of the show have also made predictions about future events, such as the election of Donald Trump as President, the discovery of the Higgs boson, and the invention of the smartphone.

However, it should be noted that these predictions are not made through any supernatural means, but rather through the use of satire and clever writing.

1. Donald Trump as President - In an episode of The Simpsons from 2000 called "Bart to the Future," a fictional version of Donald Trump is depicted as the President of the United States. The episode depicts a future in which the country is in financial ruin and struggling to recover from the poor leadership of President Trump.

Some similarities between the episode and the actual situation include:

  • Both the episode and reality depict Trump as a businessman and reality TV star who unexpectedly wins the presidency.

  • Both the episode and reality depict Trump as a polarizing figure who divides the country.

  • Both the episode and reality depict Trump as a president who inherited a difficult economic situation and struggled to turn it around.

The episode was aired in 2000, long before the actual President Trump's tenure in 2016.

2. Discovery of the Higgs boson - In an episode of The Simpsons from 2011 called "The Ned-Liest Catch," a character named Professor John Frink is depicted as discovering the Higgs boson, also known as the "God particle."

Some similarities between the episode and the actual situation include:

  • Both the episode and reality depict the Higgs boson as a fundamental particle in physics that helps explain the origin of mass in the universe.

  • Both the episode and reality depict the discovery of the Higgs boson as a major breakthrough in the field of physics.

  • Both the episode and reality depicted the discovery was done using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a particle accelerator located at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva, Switzerland.

The episode aired in 2011, a year before the Higgs boson was discovered at the LHC in 2012.

3. The Invention of the Smartphone - In an episode of The Simpsons from 1995 called "And Maggie Makes Three," there is a scene in which a character named Homer Simpson is seen using a device that closely resembles a smartphone. The device has a small screen, a keyboard, and is seen being used to make a call.

Some similarities between the episode and the actual situation include:

  • Both the episode and reality depict a device that is portable and can be used to make calls and send messages.

  • Both the episode and reality depict a device that has a small screen and a keyboard.

  • Both the episode and reality depict a device that can be used for communication and for accessing information.

It should be noted that the episode aired in 1995, several years before the first smartphones were commercially available. The first smartphone, IBM Simon was invented in 1992, but it was not widely available for purchase. The first widely available smartphone, the Nokia Communicator was launched in 1996. The episode's depiction of a device similar to a smartphone is a good example of future prediction.
